SO BEAUTIFUL! So nice! Unfortunately they did not heed our warning when we told them the door battery was low so when we came home on day two our door had been left wide open for hours. I’m sure it wasn’t malicious just a result of the door battery being low but… that’s really not ok!! We stayed in the nicest cabin, jacuzzi water was never warm (poorly insulated building so the water cooled shortly after hitting the tub not to mention it never got all that hot). If you want to use the kettle and pots to dump boiled water in like we did, go ahead. This place is beautiful but a little too rustic for the price point. And the door thing, really really unacceptable.

The rooms is cozy but really cold. It is badly insulated and the fireplace is not enaugh to heat the space during the night. There is no other heating system in the room. We got extra wood and we had to pay extra. The bathroom is not as nice, but functional. Overall the place is really overpriced for what it is. The place has really nice location, site is curated and staff is kind. Overall it was not worth the expensive price for us and the lack of well heated place did not allow us to enjoy our stay.

This place is amazing, in the middle of the forest. You just wake up in the morning surrounded by nature and silence. I appreciated how they respect nature. The room where my boyfriend and I stayed was very comfortable, and we really enjoyed the fireplace in the night watching a film

Gorgeous location. One of a kind. So happy to have experienced it and I’m so grateful for the wonderful staff that greeted us at the front desk—they were truly lovely and helpful. I would not change a thing about their service and their energy. The cabins are nice, though I would say not as advertised. For example, we stayed in cabin one and there was only one window facing the parking area. That’s ok, but not what we saw in the pictures. Secondly, hot water was an issue for me, but my boyfriend explained that is to be expected of this country life. It’s impossible to have hot water running all the time and also costly, so I understand that. Yes, there where some bugs but it’s the mountains. The road there is long and winding up the mountain, some of these reviews do not take into consideration that you are going into nature and this is not a city. Loved the cabin I was in, but next time, I think I would love to stay in one of the cabins in the woods. It is chilly and the weather is unpredictable. Truly. Layers. Hats. Gloves. Thick socks. Thick pajamas. You will need them. The staff was so helpful when we had an issue with us getting a proper fire started in our chimney. There are mototaxis that will help you travel from location to location outside of the hotel and they are efficient. Rancho Viejo’s new and developing bar was a mega hit and the cocktails were delicious. Everyone was friendly. People we encountered were friendly. Rancho viejo staff were always responsive via their whatsapp (don’t forget to add their area code). If you plan to visit, please treat the area with respect and love. These people live here and the mountain is their home.

Great place dont thin twice, just book! Rooms are very spacious and the entire place is well maintained. Costumer service was exceptional, very friendly staff. Rooms also included and chimney which we loved during our stay. Temezcal deals are on Wednesdays $50/person ($300 any other day) they have a mini coffee shop and mini market. Brand new and very nice bar design with great drinks. The road is very very bumpy from the main highway to the cabanas.

One of the best places you will ever stay at. The views are breathless. No way to describe them you have to see for yourself. Also this places has food delivery a coffee shop and even a mezcal bar so no need to move anywhere.

This place is beyond amazing. it feels like a spa resort in the mountains. I stayed one night in the dorms (22$ usd) and another one in a private cabin (950 pesos). The facilities inside and outdoors are fantastic, extremely clean, friendly staff and lot of nature around. If you see looking for a safe, relaxing place to experience magic mushrooms , this place is the best choice. Fresh mushrooms are being sold at the reception (800 pesos), which is pricey, and the exact same can be found in the town for 350 pesos. P.S . Cabins have a fireplace

I loved this place! This is my fourth time staying in San Jose and while the other places I stayed were cheaper, this is by far the nicest. The chimney in the room is a huge bonus for the cold nights. (they ran out of split wood the second night we were there, keeping more split wood on hand is my only suggestion for the place:) we will be back though, the terraces are great, the mirador is perfect and the room was super clean and stocked with coffee.
